Propane is a very popular alternative fuel. It is used to heat pools, operate a gas grill, for outdoor lighting and even to run fireplaces. Even though it is safe to use propane, the propane tanks should be taken care of.

Always store the propane tanks in an upright position. If you have to move the tank, then do so by keeping it upright. Do not store the tank inside your house especially near an open flame. Keep the propane tank outside. Keep a lookout for leaks in the tank. In case you suspect a leakage get it serviced immediately.

Do not empty the tank completely. Keep some gas to maintain pressure in the tank. Turn off all gas valves when you are not using the tank. Always read all instructions given on the manual before you start using the propane gas. In case you notice a dent or bubbles take it for replacement.
