Now-a-days, we see a lot of buildings made up of glass blocks. Today’s architects like glass blocks the most mainly because they look very good and give a modern look to the building. Glasses used on these buildings are not the kind of glasses we generally know. They are much stronger than the usual glasses and are more durable, meeting to our expectations. Available in transparent, black and opaque finishes, glass blocks give a contemporary stylish look to the exterior of a building.
Apart from improving the overall looks of the building, they also make it more energy efficient. Because more heat and light enters into a building that is made up of glass, the need of heating and air conditioning is reduced to a huge extent. Thus, glass blocks not only save energy but they also help the home owner in saving a lot of money on energy bills.

Bath tubs are of different types and different manufacturers. They are also made of a wide range of materials. Here are some of them;
Attached apron enameled steel bathtub: this are the most common and the lowest priced. Because of their cheapness they are easily found in most of the outlets. The good thing with them is that they don’t chip. They are also comparatively thin and retain heat.
Fiberglass: also a little bit cheap, and made from a material that is easily available in different shapes and color. Fiberglass usually has four pieces making up a piece. It mostly makes soap dishes, built-in seats, grab bars and towel bars.
Acrylic bathtubs: almost similar to fiberglass, its only difference being its color which makes it comparatively unlikely to scratch or fade.
Cast iron bathtubs: this is the toughest of all and hence the heaviest. It should be handled with a lot of care when being installed due to its weight.

It’s probably very irritating dealing with a home that seems like a blast furnace during midday. You can’t change your home overnight but investing in an air conditioner can help deal with the heat wave. There’s a few things you’ll need to keep I mind when considering air conditioners. Firstly where do you want to place it? Should it be in the bedroom or hall because everyone’s going to want a share of it. Do you want a box A/C that’s easily available for cheap if you buy a used model? Then there’s the split A/c or even a central A/c.
Furthermore, do you have the right place to install an air conditioner? Too many open spaces like vents, exhausts and balconies aren’t going to help the cooling process. What if the air conditioner is noisy or is everyone at home going to fight because they want it in their room. The most important consideration would be the increase in your electricity bill each month.

Each of us has personal tastes and preferences regarding home décor. Some may think a chandelier in the living room will do the trick whereas others may be steadfast about their belief in Feng Shui. It’s all about creativity and what strikes a chord with your liking. For some, the use of windows in home décor is given as much importance as other furnishings, and sometimes even more.
The option of using frosted glass with a snowflake design is brilliant. Another very creative method of using windows in home décor is to opt for stain glass painting. This ensures that you can have just the design you wish on your window panes.
If you aren’t too sure about colors and designs, you can leave the windows plain but concentrate on window frames. Hardwood frames that have been carved upon to create unique Victorian or floral patterns certainly can’t be replicated and add charm home that’s hard to miss.

When you’re looking at home décor and start picking up beautiful artifacts, furniture, fittings, fixtures, furnishings, and the likes, its upkeep becomes important. You can’t let everything lie around and collect dust. Some stuff is good for cleaning with soap water solution but that’s a limited solution for a handful of articles. For the most part even simple dusting won’t do the job. You’re going to need to invest in a quality vacuum cleaner to help get the dust off.
This isn’t just to get dirt off the surface but vacuum cleaning ensures that dust from crevices, openings, and other uneven surfaces created because of design considerations are cleaned thoroughly. You certainly don’t want to deal with a hose full of beautiful objects that loses its charm because of dust and dirt that collects causing your home décor to lose its charm and sheen. Take control of things and use a vacuum cleaner to keep dirt at bay and keep your home in top shape.

Embroidery is almost a dying art with life becoming so fast paced. Things have changed manifold and you don’t really find too many people who are professional seamstresses. All this has attributed to embroidery being some sort of a marvel in today’s time. Most places that supply embroidered art do so with the use of machines.
There’s nothing wrong with that because such machines can copy most designs but do lose out on details. The finer points can only be embedded in handmade embroidery which certainly is a dwindling art.
The use of handmade embroidery tabletops, bedcovers, pillow cases, curtains and other furnishings is almost a luxury. It certainly is difficult to find such artists because they are few and far in between. However, if you do find a handmade embroidery source don’t think twice about ordering. Your ware will be a little expensive and delivery slightly delayed but you’ll get your hands on quality stuff.
