In recent years hand held showers have become more popular but they can break easily due to misuse. Installing hand held shower heads is an easy do-it-yourself process.
First of all to avoid stressing the water pipe coming from the wall, turn off water from the main connection before removing the old shower head. Then remove any thing on the thread and thoroughly clean it.
What you will need is a crescent wrench and Teflon tape. Place the Teflon tape in the clockwise direction since the screw would also go that way on the male end of the plumbing and be sure not to use more than two layers of Teflon. Place the holder for the shower head shower head tightening it first by hand and then by the crescent wrench to ensure a tight fit. Attach the holder to the hose and to the shower head. Turn on the water to check for any leakage.
